Ubisoft's city-builder Anno 1800 has some new content to enjoy. There's a new paid DLC pack out, as well as a day-night cycle update that's free for all players.

Botanica is the second DLC pack for Anno 1800. It follows July's Sunken Treasures, which added a new island and a diving bell system. In Botanica, you'll be able to build and cultivate your very own botanical gardens. There are various sets of flora from around the world which you can grow and display in your garden complex. You'll also have access to some new ornaments that you can display alongside your gardens for the ultimate aesthetic effect.

Ubisoft says Botanica "comes with over 21 unique botanical modules and one glasshouse module". The pack also adds 11 new ornaments and brings the total number of plant items up to 59. That's not all there is to see in Botanica though. You'll also be able to build the new Musical Pavilion building, which allows you to play music from previous Anno games inside your city. If you want to play Botanica, you'll have to reach the fourth civilization level. If you've already done so, you should find the pack readily available.

The Anno 1800 season pass has one more DLC pack to come. The Passage will take place in the Arctic circle and will bring with it new Arctic buildings and production chains. We don't yet know when that'll land. Since Sunken Treasures came out in July and Botanica landed in September, expect The Passage to drop somewhere around late October-early November. Naturally, we'll keep you posted on this as we get more. In the meantime, you can read more about Botanica over on Ubisoft's dev blog.

Anno 1800 is available to buy from the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store. DLC for the game can be purchased either individually or as part of its Season Pass. Our review of the game is also well worth checking out if you're on the fence about grabbing it.
