Amazon and Twitch have detailed a new subscription programme called Free Games With Prime. The service will give Prime subscribers access to a collection of free games each month which they can keep indefinitely. The news was announced via the Twitch Twitter account, with both March and April’s line-ups being revealed. Starting today (March 15), Prime Users can get their hands on Superhot, Oxenfree, Mr. Shifty, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun and Tales From Candlekeep: Tomb of Annihilation.

The free games for April were also announced and will include Tales from the Borderlands, SteamWorld Dig 2, Kingsway, Tokyo 42 and Dubwars. The Free Games With Prime service is said to be in response to the Twitch Prime Indie Amplifier event which ran last month. As detailed in a post on the Twitch blog, “all eight titles from the Indie Amplifier program will be made available for free over the next few months.” The event saw a handful of indie titles go head to head for community votes, with the winner being offered up for free. As well as those already included in the upcoming Free Games With Prime line-up, I, Hope, Tumblestone, High Hell and Treadnaughts will all be offered for free in the coming months.

Twitch Prime subscribers will see their memberships upgraded to include Free Games With Prime automatically. Twitch is also offering a look at each free game in detail, “If you want to check out any of these games in action, ElegyofGames and seriouslyclara will regularly show off the Free Games with Prime through July on their streams Sundays at 6PM PT and Mondays at 8:30PM PT starting on 3/25 and 3/26 respectively.”

Twitch Prime is a service launched in 2016 that comes bundled with an Amazon Prime subscription (affiliate link) at $99/year or $12.99/month. Aside from ad-free viewing, it offers monthly in-game items such as Call of Duty loot boxes and Fortnite: Battle Royale cosmetics, a free monthly subscription to a channel on Twitch and also the occasional game from their digital game store in addition to this new program. Amazon Prime itself also offers discounts on video and tabletop games, as well free shipping.
