Following our recent coverage of Allison Road's cancellation, UK developer Lilith Ltd has now split with their publisher, Team17.

In accordance to a Facebook post, it would seem that there were some complex issues in developing this title. While the exact details remain unknown, the original message posts as the following;

Hi all,
After a long consideration between Team17 and ourselves, we have reached a mutual agreement to end our collaboration on publishing Allison Road under Team17’s Games label.

Sometime things pan out differently than expected as game development and publishing have so many layers of complexity... We’d like to especially thank everyone for their support through-out, it has and will always be appreciated!" - Allison Road Facebook page

Allison Road Cancel

With their initial announcement released shortly after the cancellation of Silent Hills, to the eyes of many Allison Road was their answer to the highly anticipated title.

While Silent Hills certainly played some role in inspiring Allison Road, Project Lead Chris Kesler spoke with TechRaptor and said that the title took inspirations from other games, including titles such as Resident Evil and Dead Space.

This isn't the first time that Team17 has had to part ways with a developer. In the past, Team17 has had issues with other indie developers like Weappy for This is the Police, which that led to them going their different ways. While there’s no indication that this is the case here, it is worth noting the publisher's history.

We will continue to update this article once more information comes to light.

Quick Take

Aside from knowing that the devs are now split with Team17, it still seems Lilith Ltd aren't willing to provide us any more details on what has happened.

Regardless of the conflict, it's just sad to see 'the curse of P.T.' hit another potential project. Hopefully within the near future, we'll see Allison Road arise from the ashes in some sort of Kickstarter project.

What are your thoughts on this? Are you disappointed on Allison Road's cancellation? What do you think might be the cause of it? Do you think the developers should open another Kickstarter? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
