Alan Wake's trouble with music licensing seems to be over - the game is available to purchase again (and on sale, to boot) according to a tweet from Remedy Entertainment.

If you haven't yet played the game, Alan Wake tells the tale of the titular fictional author who decides to take a vacation after a particularly troublesome bout with writer's block. He heads to the sleepy town of Bright Falls for a little R and R. Unfortunately for Mr. Wake, the town's denizens are no stranger to his work and it might not be as sleepy as he had hoped.

The game previously had been pulled from sale thanks to some trouble with music licensing. This may have been particularly bad for potential sales of a legacy title since the IP had just gotten a deal for a television series. Those issues have since been resolved thanks to Microsoft renegotiating the music rights and getting the game back onto digital storefronts.

What's more, an artistic disaster has been wholly averted. Unlike some of its modern contemporaries who have seen a game return with a different soundtrack, the lovely tunes of Remedy Entertainment's Twin Peaks-esque thriller are wholly intact according to a statement from Remedy Entertainment Communications Director Thomas Puha on Twitter.

Alan Wake isn't just available for purchase again - it's also on sale at a pretty steep discount. PC players can grab it on Steam, the Humble Store, or GOG for $3.00 or less. The Collector's Edition will run you just a dollar more on Steam and the Humble Store. You can also pick up the sequel Alan Wake's American Nightmare on Steam, the Humble Store, and GOG for a similar 80% discount. The console version of the game for the Xbox 360 isn't available for purchase just yet, but you'll be able to buy it at this link when it is.
