Bandai Namco have officially announced the release date for Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time, and it’s coming West on May 15th. After we uncovered that the originally reported release date of February 20th was incorrect, many wondered when Chamber of Time would come to our shores. It doesn’t get more official than a press release by Bandai Namco however, plus a post on the official Playstation blog. Though the PSN Store has yet to be updated with the new release date, and the Steam store lacks a listing entirely, I would expect these to be updated soon.

Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time is a 2.5D brawler based on the anime by Studio Trigger. Featuring the exploits of Akko and other witches in training at the Luna Nova Magical Academy, she and her friends undergo magical instruction at a time when magic is on the decline. The original series was praised for its charming presentation and heartfelt message. Surprisingly popular in the West, it would later get picked up by Netflix, and only exists because of an extremely successful Kickstarter.

Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time is the first game from developer Aplus Games to make it to our shores. Previously, they developed the shoot-’em-up/visual novel 6×1=/Unlimited, and the deckbuilding Killca Drive, both for the 3DS. As their first PS4 title, Chamber of Time launched to decent sales and reviews, with the expectation that it would make its way here before long. As with our earlier reporting, Chamber of Time never technically missed its earlier release date, as there was never an official announcement. Even so, fans were still dismayed to hear of the later release. Finally, those of us in the West can get our hands on Chamber of Time, when it comes out digitally on PS4 and PC on May 15th.
