Just can’t get enough of Final Fantasy XV? You’re in luck. In addition to the slew of DLC announced for the game that is going to be released in the following months, the side-scrolling brawler prequel game A King’s Story: Final Fantasy XV has been announced for general release as a free title on the PS4 and Xbox One in Europe and North America. Previously a GAME pre-order exclusive bonus in the UK and a Gamestop pre-order exclusive in North America, it was originally released on November 29, 2016, alongside the main game.

The side-scrolling brawler features a deep combat system with a mix of combos and counters, including Regis’ signature ‘Warp Strike’ ability to keep the fast-paced action up. Additionally, there are three companions (Weskham, Cid, and Clarus) who can join you, each with unique ways to attack enemies and special super moves to deal massive damage. Magic also joins your tookit with fire, ice and lightning magic to give more ways to destroy enemies. Finally, the Final Fantasy staple of summons make an appearance, as you can summon astral entities to destroy foes at your behest.

The game will be released to all European and North American players on March 1.

This news comes just as Final Fantasy XV has been patched to version 1.05 with PS4 Pro support now available. The patch also introduces new Time Quests, increases the level cap from 99 to 120 and now allows players to store 200 photos. It also includes several music updates, as well as the end of the Moogle Chocobo Carnival event.
