Here at TechRaptor we've decided to come together with a list of games that help put us in the mood for the greatest holiday of the year. Infamous: Festival of Blood
After being bitten by an ancient vampire, Cole MacGrath has one night to reverse this curse. You'll bite drunk humans to feed your bloodlust, slay vampires and monsters alike, all while your best friend tries to pick up a woman in a bar. Outside of Pumpkin spice, it's the most Halloween experienece ever created. —Nick Maillet
Silent Hill 3
Silent Hill 3 is often overlooked compared to its predecessor Silent Hill 2. A game where you leave the titular town and willingly return. You're out. You're free. And yet, agents of darkness follow you into the "real world"—is it even the "real world" at all? When it comes to Halloween, Silent Hill 3 provides the best kind of scariness—the terror of the unknown and the reluctant choice to willingly head back into a nightmare. Most stunningly, it manages to get across a sense of warmth and happiness as a great contrast to the horror that the first two Silent Hill titles never managed. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat is the essential Halloween mood game. The atmosphere is overwhelming, especially if you have the Misery mod installed, which does exactly what you might expect with that title. You never know what insane irradiated monster will be lurking in that building you're about to search for some more ammo. Often times people are more dangerous than the assorted monsters though, which reflects real life in the most discomforting way. —Regan Cox
Resident Evil 6
Whether you're a fan of short-lived, over the top action sequences or long bits of nothing in between, Resident Evil 6 is campy enough to satisfy this Halloween season. Grab a bucket of popcorn and enjoy it with friends, and it should be a laugh—treat it like you would an Evil Dead movie and pretend the bad bits are there on purpose. It might not be a fright-fest, but what's Halloween without a solid B movie experience. —Dom O'Leary
Typing of the Dead: Overkill
In case you want to check out something spooky for the Halloween season without feeling the crippling self-loathing that comes with not doing anything productive all day, Typing of the Dead: Overkill is always a safe bet. While it may be more of a typing test than pure terror, Typing of the Dead: Overkill contextualizes the words, clauses, and sentences you have to jam out into the only thing standing between your foul-mouthed protagonist and the hordes of living dead all hungering for your brains. Add in co-op mode and the ability to switch back to traditional point and shoot combat at any time and you have the recipe for the finest light gun offering PC gaming has to offer. And, of course, the fact that there's a DLC devoted to absurdly offensive statements and insults doesn't hurt either. —Perry Ruhland
