Halo Master Chief Collection

After all of the matchmaking issues encountered by Halo Master Chief Collection 343 Industries said that they would make it up to the fans and supporters of Halo by giving them all a gift. Last night Bonnie Ross, Head of 343 Industries, released a blog post on the official Xbox Blog detailing their latest accomplishments with Halo: The Master Chief Collection, some plans for the future and how they plan to thank the fans.

343 Industries have said in the past that fixing the matchmaking issues with the Master Chief Collection has been their prime objective and have been updating the game weekly most noticeably adding in the SWAT game type and adding Halo CE playlists back. Next week the ten episodes of Spartan Ops from Halo 4 will be added as well as even more issues being fixed. As a way of thanking the fans that stood by them and supported them while they were trying to find the issues and fix Halo MCC 343 Industries is going to be giving fans:

1 Month of Xbox Live Gold Exclusive in Game Nameplate Exclusive in game Avatar

One of the bigger announcements is that 343 Industries have been listening to fans asking for more Halo 2: Anniversary maps as well as Halo 3: ODST and have decided that they are going to make them a reality. Any players of Halo: The Master Chief Collection that played online between the release date of the game and yesterday will receive the entire Halo 3: ODST campaign as well as an Anniversary 2 remake of the "Relic" map.

If you want to read the full blog post then you can see it right here. As of yet there has been no date set for when owners of Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be receiving these add-ons.

What do you think about giving this additional content to players? Are you happier with your early adoption now that you're getting this for free? Do you think 343 should be doing more?
