TechRaptor's Theme Week has returned, and the obvious theme for this month was of course Mario, as Super Mario Bros. just celebrated the 30th anniversary of its release in Japan on September 13th. Check out an article Robert Grosso wrote on the game changer that was Super Mario Bros. to celebrate that day—you'll probably learn a few things about the mustachioed man and the other guy you did not know either.

Each day of this week we will have an article featuring Mario prominently as the subject. Some this week will be about the design of Mario games, others about histories of one of its franchises, and even others about its cultural impact, and more.

With going on 30+ years of influence, spanning genres from racing, sports, fighting, platformer, RPG, puzzle, and more, there is more to be said about Mario and the related franchises than just about any other gaming character or series out there. We plan to hit on just a few here this week.

All we asked our writers was to write something about Mario, no question prompt at all, and this is what seven of them chose to write about when given the chance to say anything they wanted.

Below you will find a link to all of the articles this week featuring Mario.

The Mario Bros' History of Character Design – Kyle Lawrence

Mario: 30 Years of Racial Diversity – Georgina Young

A Brief History of Mario Kart – Cody Liptak

Mario and the Generational Bridge – Kindra Pring

What would you like next month's Theme Week to be? What about future theme weeks? What has Mario meant to you?
