Are you running Symantec Endpoint Protection and getting hundreds of notifications from Symantec that there is infections by the name of DWH<randnum>.tmp?

Well, lucky for you, they are not actually viruses, but files being created by Symantec itself! (Pointless, I know!) Essentially, a process of Symantec Endpoint Protection, called DWHwzrd.exe is creating these files over and over, when generally it should only be creating them in folder in Symantec and removing them due to a corruption or a bug. Thankfully, The fix is simple.

On your PC, open up

C:\Program Files\Symantec
Delete DWHwzrd.exe and close the window

Go to Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs (or Programs and Features in Windows 7) and choose change on Symantec Endpoint Protection and do a repair.

After the repair, you can go into the folder with the .tmp files and delete them all, as Symantec will discontinue creating them.

Your issue should be gone after this!
