Nutaku is back again with their latest free-to-play title Pocket Waifu, a game in the vein of Tamagotchi with a decidedly lewd flavor to it that was announced.
Pocket Waifu takes players back to the era of Tamagotchi, a miniature game on a keychain where players had to feed, entertain, and raise a digital pet. Anyone born in the early '90s is probably well familiar with the little toys, and Pocket Waifu carries over many of the same mechanics from this style of game with some minor differences - namely, that you're looking after a live-in girlfriend rather than an 8-bit dragon monster that hatched out of an egg.
Players have to take care of four distinct needs for their lady. Undertaking the Hunger, Bathroom, and Energy actions will take a bit of time (which can be skipped by using premium currency if you aren't the sort to wait). Some of these actions will also fill up the heart meter; passing each successive level will unlock new saucy interactions with your girl. These sexy scenes are animated in-engine rather than static images.
While you certainly can throw a few bucks at this free-to-play game (and Nutaku would be quite happy with that), it's entirely possible to earn money in-game through a variety of different methods. Players can complete different Tasks on a daily or weekly schedule. The "Happiness" need is filled by playing minigames which can also earn you currency as you play. This currency can then be used to purchase boost items or buy gifts for your digital girlfriend. A Gacha system (essentially a loot box system) provides another way for players to get their hands on some goodies whether they want to earn tickets through gameplay or just drop a few bucks on buying them.
For the moment, you can play Pocket Waifu in your browser and enjoy over 30 different animated adult scenes. Nutaku has stated that an Android version of the game is on its way. If this sounds like the sort of thing you'd like to check out, head on over to the Nutaku website and check out Pocket Waifu for yourself [NSFW].
