The World of Warcraft: Shadowlands release date has finally been confirmed by Blizzard Entertainment following a year filled with delays and disappointment: the new World of Warcraft expansion arrives in less than a month.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands was originally supposed to launch back in October 2020. Unfortunately, the developers realized that they needed "a little more time" to polish the game and improve its endgame, resulting in a delay to sometime later in 2020. The fruits of those labors have now been realized — the Shadowlands are opening up in November.
When is the New World of Warcraft: Shadowlands release date?
The new World of Warcraft: Shadowlands release date will be November 23, 2020, at 6:00 PM Eastern — that's a little less than four weeks away! The Shadowlands pre-patch has already gone live earlier in October, so all that remains is for Blizzard to push the big red button late next month.

Delaying the release by a month has allowed the developers to do exactly what they had set out to do: shore up the endgame, overhaul the combat and rewards in the Maw, and rework the Covenant systems to make them easier for players to understand.
That's not all that's coming, though. The World of Warcraft: Shadowlands pre-launch event will begin on November 10, allowing players to take on the Scourge in a new battle. After the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands release date arrives, players will have even more to look forward to — the Castle Nathria raid and Shadowlands Season 1 will both begin on December 8, 2020.
