Have you ever wanted to control a team of eldritch horrors? Well good news for you: soon you can get your hands on Sea Salt, which will allow you to do exactly that.

The game will have you stepping into the role of Dagon, a horror that has only really been a nightmare story for sailors. At least, until now. Now Dagon walks the Earth and controls hoards of little soldiers that he sets loose on various people. In a trailer, we get to see some of these monsters, such as lich that will revive dead humans to fight for you, or exploding frogs that, well... explode. While a man with a flamethrower may be able to take down a group of unarmored little horrors, if you put some fire resistant crabs in your army then you'll soon find yourself ripping him apart. Satisfying. You can watch the trailer below.

Sea Salt is being developed by Y/CJ/Y, a group of Sweedish developers. The idea for the game originally came about in the 2017 "No More Sweden" game jam and a combination of reading a ton of Lovecraft and playing a lot of Bloodborne. The game was described as a "reverse hoard mode", where every time you died you got more units while you fought against hunters and tried to clear the game with as few respawns as possible. For the full release, they're also working on a campaign, which they say will take up the majority of the game.

Sea Salt will be available on PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 17th.

How do you feel about all those cute little eldritch horrors scrambling around? Do they just look super huggable to you? Do you just want to pick one up and squeeze its little cheeks? Let us know in the comments below!
