FTL: Faster Than Light Steam achievements are coming to the game, albeit a few years after its original launch. And by "a few years", I mean seven years after it first released on Steam.

If you're unfamiliar with FTL: Faster Than Light, it's a game that was pretty popular in its heydey when it first launched on Steam back in late 2012. The premise is simple: a surprise attack has assailed the government you're a part of, and now your tiny spaceship has to bring critical information across enemy territory. A lot of enemy territory.

Along the way, you'll acquire new crew members, upgrade your ship, and face off against all sorts of tough encounters. Can you repel boarders before they kill your crew? Will you get your shield generators back online before the next missile comes in? It's hard to say, but you can certainly look forward to blowing up. A lot. And when you do, you'll have to start all over again!

When Will FTL: Faster Than Light Steam Achievements Arrive?

So, when will FTL: Faster Than Light Steam Achievements be available for everyone? According to a tweet from the developers, they're "partly visible" for players while they're in testing, but they're not yet widely available. An update that will activate the Steam achievements for everyone should be going live later this week.

If you like challenging games and you still haven't played FTL: Faster Than Light, you can buy it on sale at the Humble Store for just $2.49, a 75% discount off of its normal price. Otherwise, you can buy it at its full price on Steam or DRM-Free on GOG.

What do you think about FTL: Faster Than Light Steam achievements finally arriving? Do you think it's worth it for the developers to add this functionality to such an old game? Let us know in the comments below!
