Mere weeks after the port had been announced, Valkyria Chronicles is now in many PC gamers hands; quite literally! Today the port has launched itself to the top of the Steam Top Sellers chart, and SEGA has commented that the ports sales have smashed all prior expectations. This follows a group of other jRPGs that have found recent success on the platform; including some cult classics such as The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, Final Fantasy VIII and the not-so-classic Final Fantasy XIII. Also released recently, and unfortunately met with a distinct lack of success, would be Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming.

It seems that a month doesn't go by without us learning about a new jRPG being ported to PC; and with successes like these, it seems to be getting likelier and likelier that jRPGs will have a home on PC in the near future (a region previously dominated by Falcom throughout the 90's and early 2000's)! Beyond this, perhaps SEGA's most recent PC success story will finally convince them to release Phantasy Star Online 2 in the west; and maybe they'll cook up a Vanquish port for good measure, as well! (A man can dream, I suppose - though I'm not even going to fascinate about Yakuza ports - though I'd love to be proven wrong!) At the very least; it seems that Square-Enix and XSEED Games are ready to continue releasing new titles on the platform; as XSEED is hoping to release the next game in the Trails in the Sky trilogy sometime in early 2015, while Square-Enix is getting ready to launch the second title in the Final Fantasy XIII series in about a month!

So, how have you been enjoying the recent jRPG trend that has overtaken PC? Have you found any hidden gems that you never would have played before? Are there any games that you'd love to get a port, or localized? Let us know in the comments below!
