Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Legion, the newest expansion for World of Warcraft, will be launching August 30th of this year. Legion is currently available for pre-order and boasts a number of perks including a free level 100 character boost and early access to the Demon Hunter hero class. Blizzard has not said when the Demon Hunter head start will begin, but has said it should give players plenty of time to complete the starting zone and get their Demon Hunters to level 100. Players will only be able to have one Demon Hunter per server and will need at least one character of level 70 or higher.  WoW's newest expansion follows up on the story of Warlords of Draenor and will see players dealing with the warlock Gul'dan and the demonic Burning Legion's invasion of the Broken Isles.

In addition to a new class and the new continent of the Broken Isles,  Legion will add several new features to the game including:

  • Artifact Weapons- Class specific weapons based in WoW lore.
  • The level cap raised to 110.
  • Class Halls- Gathering areas for members of specific classes where players will build their orders and undertake special missions.
  • New PvP system- The newest expansion will revamp the PvP system adding a new Honor system and PvP specific talents. For more details, check out this article

WoW's newest expansion will be available in three different formats. The standard edition will cost $49.99 and will be available in both digital and physical formats. The Digital Deluxe edition will cost $69.99 and will offer a new in-game mount and pet as well as items for other Blizzard games such as a mount for Heroes of the Storm and cosmetic gear for Diablo III.  Legion will also be available in a retail-only collectors edition that will feature an artbook, behind the scenes Blu-Ray/DVD set, a soundtrack and mouse pad. The collectors edition will cost $89.99.
