It would appear that Konami are not quite done with Metal Gear Solid V if the brief listing of a Metal Gear Solid V: Definitive Edition is anything to go by. The Amazon listing, which has now been taken down, is replaced with a by a 404 message. There was a placeholder date of December 31, 2016. The listing was spotted by a Reddit user before it vanished. There is also a listing for the game, at this moment, up on German retailer NetGames with a release date, October 30, 2016. However, this could also be a placeholder date. So at this time the only substantial info we have is the name itself.

If this edition of the game is real, it does bring up the question of, what a "Definitive" version of Metal Gear Solid V would include? Would this be Ground Zeroes and the Phantom Pain packaged together with the cosmetic and multiplayer DLC? Some have even hoped for Chapter 3, the cut ended to be added, though I think we can all agree this would be highly unlikely to happen.

Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes

Either way the fact that Konami would want to release another version of Metal Gear Solid V isn't all that surprising. Plus in the past couple of months they have already shown some of their intended plans for the franchise with pachinko...

The fan backlash to this was pretty high however with a large number of gamers viewing Konami in a very negative light. Konami have also said they plan on developing games in the Metal Gear Solid series with a different team. Plus, Metal Gear Online continues to get updates.

When Metal Gear Solid V was released it was a hugely impressive game, with its emergent gameplay being some of the best ever to be in a game. Wyatt Hnatiw reviewed Metal Gear Solid V for us, he gave it a 9.5.

What do you think of this listing? What would you want to be included in it? Would you consider buying a Metal Gear Solid V: Definitive Edition? Let us know.
