The last time Humble Bundle did an eye-candy focused bundle they gave out games like 140, Antichamber, and Mercenary Kings. Now they're back with the Humble Eye Candy Bundle offering up 7 games that look to please your senses.
Before we talk about any of the paid tiers, there is actually a "free" tier. While it doesn't include any games it does offer up artwork from all 7 games included just in case you want proof that the games offered are pretty. The first tier, which can be bought at any price, includes three games. Human Resource Machine is a simple programming puzzle game where you have to order employees around using programming logic to create the correct outputs. Shantae: Risky's Revenge - Director's Cut is the Steam port of the popular Nintendo DSi Metroidvania. Notably, its sequel, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, is currently available in the still-running Humble Friends of Nintendo Bundle. Finally, A Boy and His Blob is a puzzle platformer and a remake of an old NES game. Similar to past bundles, this tier also includes a 10% coupon for the Humble Monthly Bundle, which will become available on Friday.
The second Beat the Average tier (currently set to $4.40) has three more games. Mini Metro is a subway building game where you have to continue to rapidly build subway lines until you can't keep pace with the growing city anymore. Mushroom 11 is a strange "anti-platformer" where you must constantly destroy parts of yourself to help grow in new directions. Finally, TowerFall Ascension is a competitive multiplayer game (and the only good thing to come out of the Ouya), where a group of archers do battle with each other in an arena. Notably, this tier is not promising any future games to be added next week, like the bundles tend to do.
The final tier of the Eye Candy bundle is set at $10 and only includes a single game: Evoland 2. This game is a tribute to video games in general and features constantly shifting genres and art styles. You can read our positive review of it here.
If you're still looking for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U games, the aforementioned Humble Friends of Nintendo Bundle is still running and has had three new games added to it. Wii U owners will get two: Swords & Soldiers II is a 2D strategy game that features three warring armies. Runbow is a strange 9 player co-op or competitive party game platformer where constant background color changes cause platforms to phase in and out of existence. 3DS owners get Nano Assault EX, a game that switches between Star Fox-styled on-rails shooting and top-down twin stick levels.
