Halo 5 Cartographer's Gift

The big December update for Halo 5: Guardians is now available. This update brings Forge mode, new REQ packs, and new maps on top of a variety of bug fixes.

You can Forge wherever you want... even in space

Forge mode is finally here, after being shown off a while ago, now fans of the sandbox building mode can take their creations to the next level. Halo 5: Guardians has plenty of different upgrades to the popular forge mode including the ability to group objects, the ability to select and edit multiple objects at a time, and a large improvement on lighting settings.

Plenty of new REQ's will be available including armor types, visor colors, weapons skins and emblems. One of these armor types will be a Mark IV [GEN1] Mjolnir armor. This one will be very well known to fans of Halo as it is the armor that Chief wears in the very first Halo game.

There is a new warzone map called "Battle of Noctus" that gives you two garage bases and plenty of mancannons. Getting around the map is the priority for this one to ensure that you are able to get to all of the different bosses as fast as possible. There is also a new arena map called Overgrowth and two new Big Team Battle Maps called Entombed and Antifreeze.

The Spartan Companies are getting their own set of commendations with almost 50 being added to promote players working with other members of their groups. There is also an added service record that is available for each company so that stats can be tracked. There is also an interesting redacted section in reference to a special helmet and armor, does this mean members of companies will get access to gear that others cannot?

Other fixes have also been added to Halo 5: Guardians including multiplayer balancing, campaign stability fixes and user interface updates. Interestingly a whole set of machinima based controls have been added to aid in the filming of machinimation.
