We're a couple of days out from September and Major Nelson has released the list of Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles that will be available for free as part of the Games with Gold program. Games with Gold free titles are available for all current Xbox Gold subscribers. The timing of when the games will come out has been changed up a bit recently so one Xbox One titles will be available all month, the second will be available half way through the month until half way through next month and the timing of the releases for the Xbox 360 will remain the same.
Starting off for the Xbox One during the entirety of September the indie game The Deer God will be available free to download. The Deer God is a beautiful pixel art platformer that is all about survival, reincarnation and karma. You will travel through the world living as a deer interacting with animals and characters and completing quests. As you progress you will find secrets and solve puzzles while using the power of statues that you find along the way to level up your antlers as you strive to become the deer god. From the 16th of September until the 15th of October Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will be available to download for free. This reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise puts you in the shoes of an inexperienced Lara Croft as she end up shipwrecked on a mysterious island with some other crew members. It's up to you to now explore the island and find a safe way for you and your friends to escape, that is before you figure out something else might be going on on this island. Now is as good a time as ever to brush up on Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition as the sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider will be releasing in a couple of months.
For the Xbox 360 at the start of the month until the 15th Battlestations Pacific, the sequel to Battlestations Midway, will be available for free. Take to the skies over the Pacific in this action-strategy game where you can take control of over 100 air, sea and underwater units. There are two large historically accurate single player campaigns and if that's not enough then you can play in one of the 5 multiplayer modes. When the 16th rolls around then Crytek's Crysis 3 will be available to Xbox 360 members for free as you step up to the role of Prophet once again. In Crysis 3 you find yourself battling your way through the seven wonders of New York's Liberty Dome using not only a new bow and other alien weapons but also a new Nanosuit with enhanced stealth and armor abilities. As you progress you will uncover the truth about your squads death while simultaneously attempt to reestablish the humans.
Before you begin looking forward to next months Games with Gold remember that you can still pick up How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes for the Xbox One and Metro Last Light for the Xbox 360. Watch out though, these won't be available for much longer!
