Mass Effect Andromeda Asari E3 2016

Mass Effect: Andromeda finally has the curtain pulled back at the EA Conference this afternoon.

General manager of BioWare, Aaryn Flynn starts off by asking the question "How far will we go?", which ties not only into Andromeda, but the development team at BioWare as well, building on the things fans loved with Mass Effect. Flynn promises a bigger adventure and more freedom than ever before, all powered by the Frostbite engine.

The trailer itself shows off some gameplay mixed in with some behind the scenes bits, including development and motion capture technology in action, before it is animated for the game itself. We see the Mako driving, more jetpack usage, and your new personal ship, the Tempest, in action, as well as several aliens, old and new. The trailer also ends with a shot of a woman who seems to wake up from a form of cryogenic stasis, before uttering "we made it" as the title screen comes across the screen.

While the information doesn't give us full details of what to expect from Andromeda, the trailer itself showed off more gameplay than ever before.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is slated for a release date in January of 2017. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our coverage of E3.

Update 2: Changed our title image, showing off the Asari in the trailer instead of the old N7 trailer image. The facial animations are keyframed, and show a wider degree of movement and expression for the Mass Effect series never seen before.
