Project Spark made an appearance at microsoft's E3 press conference, reminding us that it exists and teasing us to hell and back. The trailer was mostly proof of concept, but if this game maker is as fluid and easy as it seems this title could be a lot of fun.

However, the tease was a surprise cameo by everybody's favourite foul mouthed squirrel Conker. It's been a while since we saw him - appearing in Conker's Bad Fur Day on the N64 before that game was remade for the XBOX after Rare's purchase by Microsoft - but now he's... Back? Well kind of.

It's great to see Conker again, but I feel like some salt has been rubbed in my wounds. The announcement wasn't more Conker, it was that Conker will be in Project Spark, so that you can make games with him in. In the trailer Conker says that if nobody is going to make him a new game he will have to make one himself, allowing for cool new Conker possibilities but stamping on my dreams.

Again, it's great to see Conker, but it's upsetting to hear a company acknowledge that people want a new game and then not deliver. A new Conker would probably not make much money, but this announcement is just another reminder about the sad state of Rare at the moment.

However, I am looking forward to toying around with my pal Conker in Project Spark. You got me Microsoft, if you aren't going to make a new Conker than I will!
