Arkham Knight PC mess feature

Surprise, surprise, the Joker's got a surprise for those Batman fans out there. Although PC players will not be happy with the surprise, because Batman: Arkham Knight is making its return to the news headlines.

First noted by Dualshockers, Amazon Germany, which has a tendency to leak games before they are announced by the publisher, has put up a store listing for Batman: Arkham Knight Game of the Year Edition  (Archive link). The game is listed for the Xbox One and the PS4 platforms, with the PC/Steam versions mysteriously absent from the page. It indicates that the item will release on July 28th, 2016 at a price of 49.99 euros (approximately 55 US dollars). The game will contain the base game, all the DLC in the season pass and beyond, making the package worth more than the $100 they asked for the base game and season pass on launch. This follows the trend of Rocksteady developed games of the series getting Game of the Year editions, with only the WB Montreal developed Arkham Origins not getting the treatment. In addition, Batman: Return to Arkham is also coming out on July 26th, which is remastered copies of the original Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. There is no official announcement from Warner Brothers. Interactive Entertainment at this time, but given the history of leaks on Amazon in Europe, this isn't unexpected. What's weird is that despite it being a GOTY edition, it specifically advertises the Batmobile Pack DLC from Batman v Superman, which makes it sounds like there's new DLC for the game (which that pack is most definitely not new).

Here we go again.
Here we go again with Batman: Arkham Knight.

One thing to note is that there is no Batman: Arkham Knight Game of the Year PC version listed, which makes sense given that the PC version still has issues being reported to this day, and certain elements of the title, such as SLI support, were abandoned by Warner Brothers. While it's much better then it's launch state, Warner Brothers hasn't exactly done a good job of ensuring confidence for PC players with a lack of communication and fixes for both Batman: Arkham Knight and Mortal Kombat X

TechRaptor has reached out to Warner Brothers to get a comment about the announcement, and will update the article if we do hear back from them regarding Batman: Arkham Knight Game of the Year Edition.

Quick Take

Ah, the GOTY trend. Here's the thing, while I did give Batman: Arkham Knight a good review for the PS4, I have no interest in the DLC or a GOTY version, especially given the problems on the PC platform. And considering that a lot of the DLC from what I understand was short and wasn't very good, this doesn't necessarily interest me. But I still find it hilarious that Amazon Germany is always leaking these game announcements.
