In an official Ubisoft blog post yesterday, the development team announced that the PC port of their next release, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, will be released 4 weeks later than the console ports. The Xbox  One and PS4 versions of the latest in the Assassin's Creed series should be available from October 23rd of this year where as the PC port we be available to gamers from November 19th.

This is by no means the first time that the PC port has come later than the console versions of the Assassin's Creed series. This is very much the norm for Ubisoft, the only exception being last year's release of Assassin's Creed Unity, which saw a simultaneous release of the game on all platforms. Due to the buggy nature of the last installment from release, it is obvious why Ubisoft are being cautious with the PC port this time around.

Sam Kovalev, Studio Production Manager of Ubisoft Kiev had this to say on the delay to PC:

We have introduced several new improvements to our production pipeline and validation process, which allowed us to focus on polishing, stabilizing and optimizing the PC version very early on in the project. This has been one of the top priorities for the production team this year ... The additional four weeks are for us to really bear down and finalize all of the polish and optimization, to make sure the game and all of its systems are stable when it launches, so it runs smoothly for all players starting on day one ...

Ubisoft claims to be aiming to optimize the PC version with no locks on the port in terms of resolution or frame rate. Despite this, the game will run at 1080p and just 30fps.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate was shown off at E3 this year in both the Sony and the Ubisoft conferences. The latest installment is to be set in Victorian style England and feature 2 alternatingly playable protagonists, brother and sister.
