Nintendo opted out of its normal E3 presentation this year, choosing instead to directly share news with its followers through a Nintendo Direct@E3 presentation.

This form of presentation was very different, but at the same time, it was actually really nice. Available on Tuesday morning, the Nintendo Direct@E3 presentation was full of both first and third-party showings, and was action-packed with a ton of games.

The Wii U seems to be expanding to games with better graphics, and Nintendo is truly showing how much it cares about its fans. Take a look at the Nintendo E3 2013 recap below.

First-party Nintendo games

Pokemon X and Y (October 12, 2013)

Introducing the Kalos region in full 3D! Utilizing a fully 3D perspective in everything from exploration to battling, Pokemon X and Y look fantastic. A new type, Fairy, has been introduced as well, and it's strong against Dragon type.

Nintendo is also introducing Pokemon-Amie, which gives you a way to bond with your Pokemon by giving you the ability to feed, pet, and play with your Pokemon.

Super Mario 3D World (December)

An all new 3D Mario game for the Wii U represents the next step forward for the franchise. For the first time, 4-player co-op is available with Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Peach.

Each one has unique abilities to use to your advantage. All new powerup, "Cat Mario", can climb walls and scratch enemies with claws.

Mario Kart 8 (Spring 2014)

Mario Kart 8 now allows you to race in anti-gravity! Race sideways and upside down, as well as gliding and racing underwater. Motorcycles will also be back, like in Mario Kart Wii. Mario Kart 8 will offer the largest number of multi-player modes so far.

Wii Party U (October)

Utilizing the Wii U GamePad, Wii Party U will have not just board games, but party games as well. 85 new mini-games will be introduced, with some being played primarily on the GamePad!

Wii Fit U (December)

The game has been pushed back in order to implement all-new features!

Art Academy (TBA)

Due to how people have used the Wii U Miiverse to create amazing drawings, Nintendo has decided to develop an all-new Art Academy for the Wii U.

The company has released a special version for Miiverse artists in advance, due to come out this summer. Use pastels, pencils, and colored pencils to create all new works of art.

Nintendo game releases

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD (October 2013)

It's back, and in HD! In the trailer shown, the game looks fantastic, and HD lends itself well to the game.

Any fan of the Zelda franchise who enjoyed Wind Waker before will love what Nintendo has done to remaster the game. Since the Wii U can't connect to the Game Boy Advance for the Tingle Tuner, the device has instead been linked to the Miiverse, allowing you to post comments that can be picked up on the shore by other players, as well as screenshots!

The Wonderful 101 (September 15th, 2013)

An action game where a group of heroes and their leader will be battling against a space invader who is attacking Earth.

The heroes have an ability called Unite Morph, which turns them into a giant weapon. You can draw symbols on the Wii U GamePad's screen to create your weapon, with larger symbols creating larger weapons. At the in-game shop, you can buy new skills and weapons. Up to 5 player co-op play is available as well.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (November 2013)

Donkey Kong is back for some 2.5D Wii U action! Donkey Kong's island has been overrun by Vikings, and Donkey Kong must adventure to five other islands to save it.

Unlike previous Donkey Kong Country games, you will get dynamic views alongside the side-scrolling view, depending on the scene. There is also 2-player co-op with the option to play as Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong.

Bayonetta 2

In the previous Bayonetta 2 trailer, you couldn't see her from the front. An all-new trailer, which looks unbelievable, is now available. Nintendo also showed off a gameplay trailer, with all-new skills and abilities.

"X" (2014)

This game looks really interesting, and it's from the makers of Xenoblade. Resembling an open-world Gundam Wing, the game looks incredible. With few details so far, all we know is that it is an open-world RPG with an emphasis on exploration.

The mechs you see in the trailer are called Dolls, and you'll have the option to control and transform them.

Super Smash Bros. (2014)

It's back! Everyone's favorite Nintendo fighting game is back and with some all new characters, and locations. The Villager from Animal Crossing now joins Mega Man (who has a huge number of awesome abilities) in the all-new game for Wii U and 3DS.
